• Grove Ferry & Upstreet Station

Half way between Ramsgate and Canterbury on the Ramsgate to Ashford (Kent) main line was Grove Ferry & Upstreet station.  It closed in 1966 following the Beeching report. The station was adjacent to the rope-hauled wooden ferry that would take light vehicles and their passengers across the river Stour. 
A British Railways Standard class 2 tank locomotive is depicted leaving the station on the level crossing with the all-station Margate to Ashford (Kent) in the late 1950s.
